Project 12 - Augustus

Augustus was een hele rustige maand. Het grootste deel had ik nog vakantie en ben ik gewoon lekker thuis geweest. De schets voor deze maand, met maar 3 foto's, kwam dus goed uit.
Ik heb de schets wat aangepast, want ik kon geen mooie horizontale kaart vinden in de Hermitage.

August was a real quit month. For the most part I still had vacations and stayed home. The sketch for this month, with just 3 photos, was very convenient.
I tweeked the sketch a bit, 'cause I couldn't find a nice horizontal card about the icon-exhibit.

Een heerlijk aspergediner in de Fernsehturm in Berlijn in 2005. Een LO over deze toren heb ik al eerder gemaakt.

Achter het huis van mijn vrienden in Portugal hebben ze een groot terras waar het heerlijk vertoeven is. Er staat een grote tafel om aan te eten en er zijn banken om op te zitten.
Dit jaar hing er een hangmat. Heerlijk! Dit voelde echt als vakantie!

Project 12 - Juli

Nadat ik alles geplakt had, was er nog zoveel 'white space' aan de linkerkant, dat ik daar maar een paar stickers geplakt heb.
O ja, ik had ruzie met de onderste swirl; is het te zien?

Project 12 - Juni

Gevonden! ;0)
Nee hoor, ik heb niet al die dagen lopen zoeken, ik vond ze later die avond al.
Maar ik ben een paar dagen naar Twente geweest. We wilden een stadswandeling in Deventer doen, maar met die regen was dat echt niet leuk. Daar moet ik dus nog een keer naartoe!
Donderdag zijn we al vroeg naar huis gegaan en heb ik heerlijk op de bank gehangen met een boek. Doe ik veel te weinig.....


Dit is mijn LO voor juni. Vindt je de kleuren van dit dp niet geweldig? Ik ben er helemaal weg van!

No. I haven't been looking for them all this time, I found them the same night.
I went to the east of the Netherlands for a few days, but it was raining cats and dogs, so it was no fun. Gotta go back there some day!
I arrived home early thursday and spent the day on the couch with a good book. I don't do that enough.....


This is my LO for June. Don't you just love the colors of this dp? I think they're  absolutly fabulous!

Project 12 - Mei

De schets voor mei van Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog was weer een erg leuke.
Vanmiddag ben ik even naar De Scrapheap gereden en heb dit papier gekocht. En ook papier voor de juniLO. En 2 albums. En een randpons. En het pakket van Echo Park - For the Record. En page-protectors. Ach ja, als ze vandaag 10% korting geven, moet je daar natuurlijk wel gebruik van maken!
Eenmaal thuis kwam ik er achter dat ik maar 1 vel van die bloemetjes had meegenomen en ik had er 2 nodig. Dus maar een andere oplossing bedacht.


De foto's rechts wilde ik dichter bij elkaar plakken, maar ik liet mijn inktkussen vallen (gebeurt me anders nooit.....!) en nu bedenkt de meest rechter-foto de vlek.

The sketch for May from Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog was a real nice one again.
Today I went to De Scrapheap to get these papers. And also papers for the JuneLO. And 2 albums. And an edge-punch. And the kit from Echo Park - For the Record. And page-protectord. Well, when they give a 10% discount, you've got to use that!
When I got home I found out I only bought 1 flowersheet and I needed 2. So I did it differently.


I wanted to cluster the photos on the right more, but I dropped my ink (that never happens to me.....!) and now the photo on the far right is covering that stain.

Project 12 - Maart & April

Eindelijk mijn LOs voor maart en april af.
De vertraging komt door de schetsen van die 2 maanden: maart had plek voor 5 foto's en april voor 9.
In maart had ik veel uitstapjes/afspraken, maar in april niet. Ik heb er lang over nagedacht en uiteindelijk besloten om de 2 schetsen om te draaien. Vandaar de vertraging.

Finally finished my pages for march and april.
The delay is because of the sketches for those 2 months: march had room for 5 photos and april room for 9.
I had a lot of day-trips/appointments inmarch, but not in april. It took my a long time to decide and finally choose to swap the sketches. Hence the delay.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp 2nd anniversary

Today marks the 2nd birthday of Sunday Sketch & Stamp. Can't believe that 2 years have gone by already!

Tijdens het WK levende standbeelden werd er nogal veel bewogen door de standbeelden. Dat verbaasde me heel erg, ik had verwacht dat ze heel lang stil zouden staan. Soms was het zelfs storend dat ze bewogen.


Maar niet bij dit "beeld"; zij flirtte ontzettend met de mannelijke toeschouwers.
Ze liet af en toe haar zakdoekje vallen en ging dan net zo lang allerlei handbewegingen en geluidjes maken, tot haar prins-op-het-witte-paard hem opraapte en aan haar terug gaf.
Heel vermakelijk!

During the WC living statues there was a lot of moving by the statues. That surprised me, I thought they would be motionless for a long time. Sometimes it was even to much to look at.


Not with this "statue"; she was totally flirting with the male audience. She would drop her handkerchief and she would make hand-gestures and noises until her prince-charming picked it up and gave it back to her.
Real entertaining!

Aan het eind van dag 7 waren we echt klaar om naar huis te gaan.
Die laatste dag was een beetje tegen gevallen: groep kwijt, niemand die ons kwam halen, zelfs niemand die in de gaten had gehad dat wij er niet waren en dan dat plein..... We waren er echt klaar voor.

At the end of day 7 we were really ready to go home.
The last day wasn't what we had expected: lost the group,no one to come back for us, no one even noticed that we were gone en that square..... We were really ready for it.

dresscode: white & Jesus Christ Superstar sing-a-long

Twee LOs over dezelfde avond: een van voor en een van tijdens de meezing-versie van Jesus Christ Superstar in de Mezz, Breda.
Ik ben nu twee keer geweest en ik hoop dat ze het dit jaar weer gaan doen.
Het is zo heerlijk om mee te zingen met al die geweldige liedjes uit deze musical.

I've gone there twice and I truly hope they will do it again this year.

Project 12 - start

Vorig jaar werd er elke maand een schets gepubliceerd voor Project 12 op het Scrapbook & Cards Today-blog. Ik heb die schetsen steeds opgeslagen, maar er verder nooit iets mee gedaan. Zeker niet met Project 12.


Maar toen ik in de kerstvakantie eens nadacht over alle UFO's die hier liggen, dacht ik ineens aan een doos die we ooit bij AkkeFietje gemaakt hebben.
Een doos met kaartjes in een cd-hoesje.
Ik ben het jaar er op trouw allerlei kaartjes en foto's gaan verzamelen om dit doosje te gaan vullen. Ik moest nog het een en ander afwerken voor de spullen er in konden en dat hebt ik nooit meer gedaan.
Het doosje staat er nog, met alle verzamelde spullen er in. Zonde!


Ik was toen zo heel enthousiast begonnen, maar nu staat het stof te happen.
Ik heb besloten om dit jaar mee te doen met Project 12.


Ik heb er heel lang over nagedacht hoe ik het album wil opzetten, of ik 1 papierlijn wil gebruiken of meerdere, 1 kleur cardstock of meer.....
Ik heb besloten om meerdere papierlijnen te gebruiken en om een aantal dingen hetzelfde te doen, om die steeds terug te laten komen: kraft cardstock, borduren en het lettertype en de kleur voor de maanden.
~
Last year there was a sketch published for Project 12 on the Scrapbook & Cards Today-blog. I stored all the sketches on my pc, but never did anything with them. Especially not with a Project 12.


But when I started thinking about all the UFO's that I have here, I suddenly remembered a box we made at AkkeFietje.
A box with cards in cd-cases.
The next year I started collecting memorabilia and photos to fill this box. I stille had to finish somethings before I could put the stuff inside.
The box is still here, with all the stuff inside. What a waste!


I was so excited when I started and now it's collecting dust.
So, I have decided to play along with Project 12 this year.


I thought long and hard about how to set up the album, do I want to use 1 line of DP or more, 1 color cardstock or different colors.....
I have decided to use more than 1 line of DP and to repeat some things in all spreads: stitching, kraft cardstock and the type and color for the months.

Marrakech ~ djemaa el fna

Dit plein in Marrakech zou helemaal geweldig zijn, ik vond het er vreselijk: de "artiesten" waren heel erg opdringerig en onbeschoft en die arme dieren.....
Nee, geef mij de straatjes rond het plein maar!

This square in Marrakech was told to be amazing, but I hated it: the "artists" were very rude and pushy and those poor animals.....
Give me the streets surrounding the square any day!

Op de foto sprongen die cirkels er nogal uit en ik wilde mijn andere foto's ook meer los laten komen van de ondergrond.
Ik heb wat zitten schuiven met fotohoekjes, maar wit-op-wit vind ik niks en om in die hoeken niets te doen, vind ik ook niks. Hij blijft dus gewoon zoals 'ie is!


Ik heb weer een schets van Creanijn gebruikt voor deze LO.
~
The circles are popping of the page in the photo and I wnated my other photos to pop of the background as well.
I have just some photo-corners, but I don't like white-on-white and I also didn't like using them in just a few corners of a photo. The LO stays like it is!

Begraafplaats ~ Cemetery

Zo jammer dat kleuren op een foto vaak niet mooi uitkomen; het groen van de letters past heel goed bij het groen wat aan de randen van het papier zit.
~
Too bad that colors don't always look good in a photo; the green of the title matches the green on the edges of the paper irl.
